AMCO’s Review of Commerce City Kush by Natural State Medicinal. It’s genetics are Chemdawg #4 x Rare Darkness #1, making it a heavy handed 27.1% THC. If this sounds familiar, its because I did review it a few months ago and also last year. While at Green Springs this month, I was almost done choosing and had one spot left. I gave Dragon the option to choose a strain he wanted me to review. So we’ll call this one DRAGON’S PICK for May. The process I use for reviewing doesn’t allow me to “cheat” because of my memory. If it wasn’t for my ark420.com content, I couldn’t keep up with what I have and haven’t done.
The Look aka Jar Appeal
The look rates 7 out of 10. The jar appeal on this sample is 15 pieces in 1/8th of flower. The buds range in size from the size of an English pea to a large grape. The emerald green hue is broken up by pistils and tricombs; even the stem glistens in the light. The only issue I saw was one nugg had more stem on it than flower, but it happens from time to time. The bottle is easy to open but I still hope for a terp content on the label or even a website to go to for the info.
The Aroma aka Smell
The smell rates 7 out of 10. The scent is peppery, almost like gun powder, followed by subtle floral notes. It has a fuel aroma, but it’s not at all pungent. I would say of the tree samples I have reviewed of this strain, this one smells the least gassy.
The cure rates 9 out of 10. The photos shown are under 40x magnification to show the clouded tricomb coverage. I did find a thread on one bud, but honestly I could have dropped it in there. It passed the squeeze test. The buds quickly regained their shape and no material fell off.
The taste rates 6 out of 10. I woke this morning and put a half gram sample in an OCB Virgin paper with a RAW glass crutch and took a small trip. Its very Carophyllene like. My sinuses are inflamed so forgive me for not detecting more subtle flavors. I did find a touch of skunk and peppery clove.
The effect rates 9 out of 10. I woke up with a sore body but this half gram of CCK has me fairly numb as far as the bone pain. I still have the nerve pain, but nothing much helps except not moving. This is an awesome pain med for sure.
Overall this sample rates 7.6 out of 10. I don’t think it tasted as good as The 2nd Crop and the last review,of cck but is still sufficient as a top shelf pain relief. But that’s just my high opinion.
